Wow it's amazing the year went by so fast! Schools out and everyone is ready for summer. We explored new ideas, concepts and materials. Students participated in installations, exhibitions, and contests and WE WON AWARDS!! Here are some of this years highlights in room 102. September - Pinwheels for Peace Students celebrated International Day of Peace with an art instillation in the campus park. Wilson students in Ms. Hill's classes combined with Ms. Colasante's classes created over 500 pinwheels to celebrate peace!! October - Philadelphia Tribune Article Wilson students were featured in an article in the Philadelphia Tribune newspaper for their participation in International Day of Peace and for the pinwheel installation. Click on the link below to read the article. November - Environmental Sculpture Students created sculptures using materials from the natural environment. Learning to work within a time and material constraint was not as easy as they thought. December - Flag designs for Youth Art Month February - Groundhog Contest and Winner! March-Students exhibit in Harrisburg The work of three students represented Wilson Middle School in an art exhibit in Harrisburg held by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association in honor of Youth Art Month. April - Young Artists District Exhibit And we had a winner!! May - Fresh Artists Mini Masterpiece Contest June - Graduation Awards!! Four students were awarded the Dennis Grookett Award for Excellence in Art. Congratulations to

My students love of art was seen all the way to the very last day of school at 3pm!! Students created banners and large size paintings to celebrate the last day of school! |
