The week before winter break and we are busy trying to finish all projects so that we can come back and start a new year with new projects. Grade 8 students have been working on their own weaving, it's making quite a mess but a good mess and the weavings are coming out great! grade 7 students are working on a geometric form composition that will include different types of media and shading techniques when it is complete. They have used actual geometric forms to set up their compositions and they are drawing from real life. The title of our last contest was "The Look of Today's Family" and students in grades 6 and 7 have all completed family portraits. The contest is held by the school district of Philadelphia. All of the work that was selected to represent Wilson can be seen here.

Section 814 has been working very hard on cut paper masks the depict and emotion they try to hide. This is part of the Indigenous Art Unit, where they have learned and will create art from Native American tribes. The art will be reflective of who they are and the techniques will be the Native Americans. The sixth grade students have completed their sculptures representing Wilson middle school. They have depicted wildcats, cool cats, Woodrow Wilson, Ms. Ressler and Officer Hopkins. A gallery of the work can be found on the 6th grade page.
